What does this error in the code mean?

Hello,

I am building a heart rate monitor using arduino. I keep getting this error message which I do not understand how to rectify. Can you guys please help me out?

Can you post the error message? in code tag so it looks like this

your error goes here

An error occurred while uploading the sketch

Please do this:

  • File > Preferences > Show verbose output during: > compilation (uncheck) > upload (check) > OK
  • Sketch > Upload
  • After the upload fails you’ll see a button on the right side of the orange bar “Copy error messages”. Click that button.
  • Paste the error messages in a reply here USING CODE TAGS (</> button on the toolbar).

The error is the 2nd message.

Hmm. Not very helpful. Try re-installing the Arduino IDE. Copy your code somewhere safe before doing this.

-- EDIT --

Ignore this - pert is correct. Disconnect pins 0 and 1 from other hardware while attempting to upload.

Please do this:

Hi, The error tells you that the upload is interrupted. This because you have your LCD connected to pins 0 and 1, these are the programming pins, the LCD comms is interrupting the upload.

LiquidCrystal lcd(6, 5, 3, 2, 1, 0);

Disconnect the LCD completely and it should upload.

BUT; You should reconfigure your circuit so you do not use pins1 and 0, and edit your code as well.

Look at the example codes that are in the IDE for LiquidCrystal library.

Tom... :)
