What happened to the Materia 101?

Hello Everyone.
I am just wondering what actually happened to the Materia 101 Printer?
Because I have seen several topics where the person questioning asks where it went, but they were never fully answered, or they were answered but in a way which is confusing. Can someone just tell me why the Materia 101 printer just disappeared? It seems strange that things would just disappear like that...

Disappeared from where?

It was probably not a product that would bring money in so Arduino stopped producing it; its status is Retired on the https://docs.arduino.cc/retired/other/arduino-materia-101-assembled/

The same thing happened to buggy whips and lots of other things!

While true, those things got replaced by other more advanced things in the general public, and that doesn’t really answer the question of simply asking what happened to it, though, now that I say that I suppose it is also possible that Arduino simply got out competed in the 3D printer race… As for what @sterretje said, that is also possible, but when you take a look at the Materia 101 forum page, there seemed to be a lot of bugs and fixes required on the machine, I supposed that is a possible reason as well because if people saw the bugs, why would they buy it if they can get a different one that works fine? And if people switched to different company’s printers because the Materia 101 didn’t work… Well, no money comes from the Materia 101. Makes sense.
