Hi
I made a sort of device with a Pro Micro but i fear that by the way i did it some of the consecutive digital pins may short each other. Is this dangerous? Can it damage the Pro micro?
thanks
If two pins are shorted toeach other, and both are set output and one is high and the other low, they will fight each other. This will generally exceed the max per pin current, which can damage the chip.
You should be sure that your design does not allow this to happen.
That said, momentary shorts of i/o pins to each other or tonground/supply usually isnt enough to trash the pins - leaving it like that (so the pin driver sits there in an overloaded state getting hotter and hotter) will eventually damage it though. (Unlike exposing a pin to voltages higher than vcc pr lower than gnd which will blow the pin near-instantly)
