What is better, WiFI or Bluethoot for remote control?

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to make a quad-copter, but I want to control it with my Android phone. What is the best way to do this? Would it be by using Bluetooth, or is it better is the Arduino creates his own WiFi network that you can connect with my android phone? And what parts do I need for that?

Bluetooth works in a range up to about 3-10 meters. Is that enough for your quad-copter? Bluetooth consumes less battery than WiFi so this might be a factor to consider too.
