What is the Flash wherewith Arduino can to communicate ?

Hello,

I'm new to Arduino. I red here: http://playground.arduino.cc/Interfacing/Flash that that Arduino can to communicate with Flash.

But what is Flash? Is it a software? How can it be installed say on a GNU/Linux operating system?

Regards, from Pál

THe Arduino has 3 sorts of memory

1) RAM - for variables - volatile 2) FLASH - for program code - non volatile 3) EEPROM - for variables - non volatile

You can store const variables (contradictio I know) in flash and copy them to RAM when needed

But what is Flash? Is it a software?

Yes, it is software. It is often used to make videos embedded in html pages.

How can it be installed say on a GNU/Linux operating system?

Well, first you buy a copy. It is NOT free.

Hello Paul,

thank you for your help.

So Flash came from Adobe, right?

Is the Flash Professional CC such a software? https://www.adobe.com/hu/products/flash.html or the Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP Premium Edition?

I can't read all of that page, but the words on the page that I can read suggest that it is.

the Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP Premium Edition?

That would be software that creates Flash files. The Flash file player, from Adobe, is free. The creator software is not.

Had a question about memory (incl flash) yesterday so I guess some autopilot took over ;)

but yes my mistake, should have read the question better and noticed the section it was in ...
