This is why I have florescent lighting. It has a noticeable flicker and depending on the color temperature of your bulb it can also trip IR sensors.
I worked in a TV studio when I in high school. The programming was controlled by a bank of 48 SVHS players in a closet. Seemingly randomly the programming would go offline and one of us would have to rush over to the school, get let in by security, and reset all of the programming. As I lived a half-mile away it was usually me that had to go. Eventually, I guessed to put some gaffer's tape over the IR receivers on the players and the problem went away.
