There's something very strange about this whole circuit. 48Vac when full-bridge rectified gives a max DC voltage of about 66V, yet only 8 LEDs per string (about 15 to 20V). So we are missing something - I doubt the resistors are designed to dissipate 70% of the power for no reason.
