What is the samd21 based Arduino bootloader?

Using Arduino Avrdude, stk500, Bootloader issues

I am interested specifically in arduino mkr wifi 1010, but I guess the answer will be similar to most samd21 based Arduinos.

Does it use stk500 protocol (like standard AVR based Arduino boards) to communicate with Arduino IDE?
