What priority has the save as.... dialog to work as in IDE 1.x

I have a question:

What priority has the save as.... dialog to work as in IDE 1.x?

If I want to save a sketch with the save as .... option
The save-dialog suggests to save it in the same folder as the existing file.
To save it there makes no sense at all to me.

I estimate that it is a piece of cake to adjust the save-dialog to sketchbook mainfolder
And then to create a new subdirectory just the same way as the Arduino 1.8.x does

best regards Stefan

I do not understand the problem

It does if you are using Save As to keep versions of the sketch

Using Save As means that you want to save the file with a new name and/or in a different location which is what it does for me

The default folder for Save As appears to be the sketchbook folder using rc8. Are you seeing different behaviour ?

Yes I saw a different behaviour.
The save as... -dialog opened with the subfolder of the current sketch and added a timestamp to the filename - very strange

I can't reproduce the problem. Will make screenshots everytime in the future.

I have also occasionally encountered this at random. I never figured out what the required conditions were though.

If you are able to determine a specific procedure that can be followed to reproduce it, please do let us know.
