What programmer with Nano connected via USB?

What Programmer do I have to choose when having just a Nano connected via USB to the host (under Arduino IDE 1.8.19)? BTW, clicking on "About Arduino" gives a popup with no information in it, just light gray and that's it). macOS BigSur 11.6.8.

Well, the latter effect must have been a transient glitch. I restarted Arduino and now it shows the version information.

When programming via USB, the selected programmer is irrelevant. It only applies when you use "upload using programmer".
