what range of resistor values are acceptable for lighting an LED with the 5V pow

Based on the Blink example documentation, what range of resistor values are acceptable for lighting an LED with the 5V power source we use in this lab? Which resistor do they suggest you use in the Blink example? :frowning:

The resistor needed depends on the type of LED and the current that you want to use

A Google search will return details

Easy enough to calculate the value needed from Ohm's Law. The value is not critical and the nearest preferred value to your calculation will suffice.

330 -560 ohms is safe

I use 1K ohms for LEDs used as indicators and they are plenty bright enough

If you are aiming for maximum brightness then the resistor value needs to be calculated properly
