What resistor do I buy?

I have a denon reciever and it clicks off when I turn it on. After taking it apart and inspecting it I noticed that one of my small resistors was glowing and black when I tryed to turn on the receiver. I'm assuming I replace it but have no idea what resistor to buy or where to go to buy one. Also if I do replace it more than likely is that the issue?

Thanks for any info.

No, the fact its cooking means something else has failed - replacing the resistor will just cook the
new one. This takes electronics fault-finding skills to tackle.

Ok thanks

Usually, that's going to be a blown output stage (the circuitry that drives the speakers) or something in the power supply. If the output stage uses discrete transistors or MOSFETs, that's usually what's blown. If there's a power-amp IC, that's probably it. You'd have to change the "main" blown part, plus any fried resistors, blown fuses, etc.

You generally need a schematic to identify the components, and/or a service manual which would have a schematic, some troubleshooting information (such as voltage test-points) and a parts list with the component-manufacturer's part number, and Denon's part number.
