I'm starting to work on a project that implies detecting human touch. The idea is to detect touch on a thin fabric, but I'm not sure which type of sensors would be best.
I was working previously with a photo-resistor, but because is actually detecting light I'm concerned that it may not be the best option. The environmental light may be a problem…
I would like to know if using a Electret Microphone like this one Electret Microphone - COM-08635 - SparkFun Electronics would be feasible in order to build an interactive fabric interface that has the ability to react to human touch. My idea is to capture the noise of touching the fabric.
If anyone has tried anything similar and would like to share any experience, or have some ideas, I would appreciate it.
