what software should i use to draw/plot a path from X & Y coming from arduino

hi guys

can someone pleas suggest the best program to use for my project.

basically i want to generate and display a path / line, using X & Y values fed to my pc (running windows) from the arduino via the usb cable.

ideal the software will b simple enough for a noob like myself to pick up quickly but flexable enought that it can be programmed to display other info eg the line changes colure to represent the speed.

any thoughts? dose something like what i describe this already exist out there?

thanks

Yes.

The simplest solution is to send the data direct to Excel
This can be done using older versions of Excel and the PLX-DAQ freebie macro. This essentially turns Excel into a terminal and enables you to use Excel's graph facility live. Anything Excel can do can be done direct from Arduino. No need to send time, timestamping is done by Excel using the PC clock.

The code is quite straightforward, only requiring minor additions to what you send to the serial monitor but

LiveGraph is another option.

Processing is another option.
