What timer library should I use?

I'm new to Arduino and would like to use timers. Looking at the Playground page there are 16 different timing libraries and I've found even more through Google searching. Which one should I use?

Actually, that's exactly what I'm wanting to do. I just want to use the timer to time events instead of using a blocking loop.
