What to do with a lot of IR detectors

Well inspired by the 22 Laser post, ideas please for using a lot of IR detectors. These are 38KHz data detectors 2138UHI. I rescued a tube of them from the scrap bin at work, they were manufacturers samples.

I have 64 of them at the moment and I have already made a "16 string harp" Not posted anything about this yet as it was done many years ago but showed it at the UK maker fair earlier this year. Some one took a picture of it:-

So any constructive ideas?

With no smoke it could look good

... It already is IR, shame, maybe another one? ;D

How about an arcade shooting gallery?

Trade them for some of the lasers.

Turn your car into an autonomous vehicle

Depends on how good the IR detectors are, I couldn't find a datasheet or anything using the codes you gave.

Trade around  who knows you can end up with a house like the guy that started with a paper clip.

or perhaps, something like an interactive coffee table? an electronic dart board?

Sounds like a good plan,

Here's an article for anyone who hasn't read about it:

I see a new website starting up... Electronics trading

Oh ok, sorry they are not suitable for the project I had in mind.
