what Xbee would you recommend?

The title says it all...
I'm in Australia, not use if any of the Xbee's exceed limits on the power. Can someone find out?
i am relatively new to Arduino ( i have the basics down pat i think).
I just want to know what version of Xbee I should buy, they are relatively easy to use and I found some neat tuts for them using Arduino uno's.

I'm using them to refurbish an old as race car so I'll program the car and controller with unos and Xbees (should be sick when comleted).

I just want to know what is best for me, the tutorials use the Xbee S2.

Thank you,
Aaron.

Hi
Xbee uses 3.3v, so you can seat it on an uno and use the 3.3v pin.

Xbee series 1 is known as 802.15.4 (Allows Digimesh firmware)
Xbee series 2 is known as zigbee (Does not allow digimesh firmware)

Series 1 and 2 cannot talk to each other.
I suggest using digimesh because its easier "Out of box"

Series 2 has better area coverage, and uses less power, however its really marginal.
Look at it this way, hardware wise there is not much difference, the major difference is in firmware capability.
