What's this thing called - gives access to tactile switch from case

Hi folks, not sure if this should sit here or under project guidance, hopefully the mods can move it if I've picked the wrong one.

I'm not sure if a generic version of what I'm looking for even exists or if they're only ever custom made but I'm looking to mount some tactile switches on a PCB but mount a push-button type toggle on the outside of the enclosure above the toggle so that you can use the tactile switch within the enclosure.

I've used panel mount switches to date but I'm trying to simplify my wiring by getting rid of the wires from the switch to the PCB. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks

You can find tactile switches with long push buttons.

That what you had in mind?

In general the tactile caps are custom made.

I have "simulated" them though by using trimmed and filed nails (lathed in a battery drill and a set of needle files) with the heads acting like a collar on the inside of a panel.

It is called an actuator,
google for:- tact switches actuator

Someone else just asked similar question about a month ago....

Maybe a "tactile button switch cap"?
