Goodby Post-Gutenberg era. History is rewinding without lifting the capstan.

100% of the 0.74%, 3.33% and 8.48% are online 100% of their waking hours as a requirement.

Interesting video

How do they know time spent online is not with friends or family, neighbors or church events or remote school or Arduino coding school projects ?

  • Had the same thought, but it's my guess the video's lesson is closer to the truth than not.

I wonder, when AI takes over coding, will there be a forum where the different AI sects can have a 'discussion'?
Where are we headed; to the toilet.

I am 70. I have noticed that 70+ people feel the need to tell everybody that. All my life I have been hearing how awful the current young generation is, including mine. All my life I have been hearing how the next generation will bring on the apocalypse

everything changes when you get your first paycheck and multiply X dollars per hour by 80 hours and WTF?

you may have heard the term "fourth turning" and not dug deeper. let me give you the Cliffs notes:

hard times build strong men.
strong men build good times
good times build weak men
weak men build hard times

about 20 years per times. ~80 year cycle.

check this out:

1776 - American revolution. +~80:
1865 - Civil War ends........... +~80:
1945 - WWII ends................. +~80:
2025. Ruh-ro, Rorge... you may have to ask a boomer what that means.

Sadly we have been stuck here for more than a decade. I helped my brother with his mechanical contracting business for approximately 15 years, until his death. There are very few people that want to, or able to, do the good jobs he had to offer. It was hard work. There were individuals a third of my age that couldn't keep up. The first time they got sweaty or dirty they didn't come back, the rest had little ambition. I wish it was different but all night video gaming and fentanyl won.

Something's missing, 27 years before WWII ends. I also like to add that after those hard times that built strong men, many were crippled, to a varying extent. Let's see.. hard man and crippled.. vs weak but healthy man.
