Where are you in trying to read the signal from the existing sensor shown in post #54?Have you used the scope or tried the led connection suggested by GoForSmoke?
I've seen taps made of Hall switches that read pulses without cutting insulation. but if you could put a telecom splice in without screwing the dyno up it'd be more solid. You could stick an opto on the splice, add a connector and have wiring with added tap.
I got the wires everywhere part. They tend to get less dense somewhere between sensor and destination.
But then again this is something you can get easiest from the dyno so you make a project of do it another way?
How do you get RPM from the dyno in real time? What DO you read?
