Where is analogRead and shiftout in the ide?

Hi Everyone

I would like to know where the actual analogRead and shiftout code is in the ide.

I did searched through the folders in the Arduino folder but could not find it.

Google search also did not help.

Thanks in advance.

"Core" does the magic in google search.

Use recursive grep or equivalent? Every programmer needs to know how to use grep
or an equivalent text search tool.

Normally analogRead is in wiring_analog.c and shiftout is in wiring_shift.c in
the runtime (something like hardware/arduino/avr/cores/arduino/....)

Also if you search on the web you'll find the github versions of the Arduino source too,
use "github analogRead analogReference" perhaps to narrow it down?

Yup

Thanks I will try another search tool,I use Ultra search at the moment.

In my thankfully all too brief career as a Windows Mobile developer, I was surprised to find that Microsoft used Everything as their search tool.
