I'm already highly aggitated with my IOT project using Arduino Cloud and now I cant even find a forum to voice my displeasure in the cloud interface and its failures.
Maybe I'll just go the Youtube and social media route.
I've moved your topic to the IoT Cloud section of the forum; you have posted there before ![]()
Thank you for the re-locate.
I need to take a breath before I r**t....er, give my feedback on...
- The Agent and its lack of intelligence in locating connected devices. And I see this is a problem from 2022 and earlier. You can start the agent and then go onto Arduino cloud sketches with your device attached and the agent may or may not unload itself and disappear. You can restart the agent and it can sit there and not find your device you had on COM4 just moments before, but nope, agent cant see it now.
Solution, be patient and you may connect sooner rather than later.
- Making the mistake of using OTA uploading of a sketch, because if it
gets hung up, you are screwed......well, not really, but there was no help on any forums in regards to this trap. You can log off, power off, or disconnect and the OTA will just resume and keep trying to complete and you can't get access to your sketch again.
The solution....detach the device from the thing and then re-attach it. That simple, but no help on any forum on this.
It just seems the more products Arduino releases and the rush to get software/drivers out causes Arduino to fall into the same trap the big game companies use.
Release the hardware/software now, get the money and we'll figure out the bugs later. Arduino, I'm sorry. My respect has fallen considerably with the introduction of 2-6 drivers for the same hardware (eq. DHT22). I refer to this because now Rob Tillaart's version is better than Arduinos. Arduino has an agent that sorta works and the problems/challenges that are encountered on that software have been around for years and there is still no knowledgebase stating "this might happen, here's how to get around it."
Yeah, this post may get deleted but at least now I feel better.
Hi @cptadventure. I'm sorry that you have not been satisfied with Arduino Cloud.
Are you able to reproduce this problem now? If so, I would like to perform an investigation.

I'm not sure I understand this complaint. Surely these "drivers" (the term we use in the Arduino world is actually "library") you refer to were created by community members, not by the Arduino company. The Arduino company doesn't have any control over the undertakings of the community members, so why should the fact that multiple community members created a library for a given piece of hardware cause you to lose respect for the company?
And even if it was possible for the Arduino company to control the undertakings of the community, do you really think that would be a good thing? If someone thinks they can make a better library than the existing one, why should we discourage that?
I'm not aware of any DHT22 library created by Arduino. Please provide more information so I can understand this.
Thank you for trying to pacify my frustration, however rather than go through the many steps you have graciously suggested I am going to pause. After being a Arduino user for many years, I am choosing to step away from Arduino for the time being until I have the ability to endure the newer challenges it presents to me.
I understand.
Since it seems that your complaints are specific to Arduino Cloud, if you later decide you would like to work on an Arduino project you might consider starting with a non-IoT sketch, using Arduino IDE. This will reduce the project complexity and allow you to avoid the use of the Arduino Create Agent software, which seems to be central to the problems you experienced.
This is not to imply that the problems you encountered Arduino Create Agent are not solvable, or that we don't want to investigate them, but such an investigation will likely require your involvement since the Arduino Create Agent developers can't reproduce the problems you reported. Since the investigation might be considered a "new challenge" and you have expressed a wish to avoid such things at this time, the best way forward might be a return to the good old challenges we enjoy when developing non-IoT sketches in Arduino IDE.
