I do not see where the Signal Pin is located on the Fotek SSR-40. Can someone please explain how the both work exactly the same with the Arduino with two different setups?
My bad, I meant 120V pump. I do not have the link. I will be borrowing it from a friend to do test on. I figured for 120V pump the 5V relay in the guide was not sufficient.
30x120= 3600watt. So what is it.
A 20watt pump is the size of a fist.
A wheelbarrow is needed for a 3600watt pump.

5volt is the voltage needed for the relay coil.
That 5volt can come from the Arduino.
The relay contacts that switch the pump have nothing to do with that.
A blue sugar-cube relay can be used for a 20watt pump, but not for a 3.6kW pump.
Same for the Fotek.
Beware of fake ones, so that 40A rating should be taken with a grain of salt.
The fake ones also seem to have trouble with 5volt logic from the Arduino.
An SSR can be controlled by an Arduino pin directly. +input to I/O pin, -input to Arduino ground.
Leo..
I need to be able to turn it on and off depending on the soil moisture. So the smaller relay will definitely work. I thought it was going to be much bigger pump. Is it safer/better to use the Fotek or in this case it doesnt matter?
