Where can i buy a 2.5mm stereo jack ? I've tried radio shack and they aren't quality, if i try to plug in headphones only one earbud works(it didn't have enough contacts)
Try eBay.
Digkey, search for"2.5mm jack"
Then filter: instock, stereo
2 pages of results
Stereo minijacks are commonly 3.5mm, not 2.5mm, make sure you've got the right dimensions. I've a nagging suspicion that 2.5mm jacks may vary in details from manufacturer to manufacturer.

It should say "stereo", then it will have 3-terminals for left, right, and ground. Technically, 3-conductor stereo connectors are called "TRS" (Tip, Ring, and Sleeve), and 2-conductor mono connectors are called "TS" (Tip and Sleeve). But, mostly they are sold as "mono" or "stereo".
Parts Express sells one. Radio Shack has 274-249 and 274-246. (These are listed as 1/8", which is the same as 3.5mm for standard earbuds & portable headphones.)
Doug:
Your comments about the number of terminals etc. are appropriate but I am curious about your links to the very common 3.5mm devices when what he needs is one of the less common 2.5mm devices?

Maplin FE76X (metal barrel) or FJ85G (plastic)
Did you try a search for
3.5mm stereo jack
at digikey? 112 hits.
Nice panel mount units for $1.50
Might also try 3/32 stereo jack- the US measurement of the same plug.
If you bought a plug and it didn't work with your jack, I'd suspect a bad jack before non-quality plug.
Might also try 3/32 stereo jack- the US measurement of the same plug.
Might be a bit loose (or tight!); 3/32" is only 2.38mm

I am again curious about why a link to a 3.5mm jack is being provided when the original poster very clearly specified that he was looking for a 2.5mm jack.

[edit] ...but a search at Digikey for a 2.5mm jack does indeed result in 3 pages of hits.
Of course this may be irrelevant since we have no idea where the original poster resides. At least it is not zero land.
2.5, 3.5, whatever - OP has disappeared, we're just talking to ourselves.
It also helps to search for them as TRS connectors ( or at least thats what the 3.5mm ones are called). there is also TRRS, which is the newer 4 conductor connector like the iPhone uses (allows mic use as well)
