Where to buy very small tactile switches

I am having a really hard time finding tactile switches of the small variety. One switch on my radio headunit died. and I would like to replace it. (it failed closed rendering the head unit useless until I removed it).

It measures about 2mmx3mm and has a stem height of about 2mm. It is surface mount.

All my searches on mouser and digikey have not netted me any good results, surprisingly.

Couldn't think of a better place to ask than this.

Attached is a pic. The leads shortest distance from each other are connected. The leads opposite the long distance are normally open.

Any ideas on what to replace it with would be great. I might just hang some wires out and butcher the head unit lol.

Most I have seen are 6x6mm which is way too large.

Did you search for "tact switch" on ebay.
It might be listed as 3x4x2mm

How about this one:-
Small switch

Or failing this here is the search
surface mount switches

Maybe you need to re-try your searching; start with a different filter, and work toward the size.

This one - for instance - is really close (not exact, though):

Here's something from Mouser (not sure on outline size, though - but it looks close):

Just play with the filters - and you might come up with something "close enough" if you have room for a .25 mm margin on either side.

I realize that the sony headunit may have some propriety switches... I have come across all the suggestions that you all have posted. This indicates that I have exhausted all (or at least the majority) of options.

This one does seem promising. And I have been considering it. perhaps it will be even easier than a 4 lead switch.

I guess I will solder wire leads to verify switch functionality and verify that the switch operates as I have drawn in the picture diagram and tested.

I can probably use solder/spare wire to lift the switch high enough.

The input is appreciated as always! I hope this switch is more resilient than sony's!

Fronts of head units usually have a zillion switches.
There must be another one on there that you never use.

Yes there is. But they are damn hard to remove. And it appears that the solder contacts are actually under the switch, making it very hard to solder. I did think of that, but the process of removing the bad one has convinced me to not remove a switch unless I never plan to reuse it...

Good thought though

Time to invest in a rework station (hot air).
