I have 2 different cnc shield v. 4 with Nano
I cannot find where to get the 22v off shield to run a cnc spindle motor. I think you may need a step up board or some type of power control board. One that will increase the voltage from 5v to 12v, so you can run thr 555 CNC Spindle or Laser Module.(larger than 500mw) on a 1610 Mini CNC. I am new to this forum, so this might be the best place for this Post.
Thanks,
Tom Megna
Hi Tom
Yes you are in the best place for this topic.
There generally is no area to take off high voltages unless it is a combined board.
There is however take offs that will run (turn on/off) a relay or mosfet to enable the spindle (mosfet preferred).
The 555 can also be controlled by many of the cheap chinese speed controllers.
My preference is for the ones with a digital display (0 to 100)
Generally you use external power for a spindle.
That can be the same as the main PSU for the board if the spindle specifications allow for it.
The 1610 is quite small and the 555 spindle is not always the best so take things very easy with your speeds and feeds.
Pictures would be useful.
