Which board do i need ?

Hi guys !!
i’m very beginner.
I’m writing to ask which board is sufficient and efficient to manage :

  • 3 faders to control MIDI inside Ableton Live
  • No latency
  • usb C
  • usb powered
instant recogncible by the machine when plug, ready to MIDI learning

small tiny board for obvious reasons is required to install it inside an ergonomic case

thanks so much in advance

Take a look at a Nano. They are not expensive and compatible with the UNO but have two extra A/D channels.

That rules out all Arduino, and any other electronics ever invented!

Please explain what this means.

@adriankmtz had mentioned MIDI, so an Arduino which can act as a native MIDI device may be needed. That rules out classic Nano.

Hi! thanks for the responses

Yeah i know about “ no latency “ doesn’t exist , i was trying to say for very reduced latency

and Midi learn is a feature of the plug ins inside a music production Digital work stations that sets ready the plug in to “ hear or engage or attach “ the plug in to the Analog Fader external controller ; so i’m telling that the external controller when plugged can be instant ready/able to recognize the midi learning feature from Ableton , like much other controllers do it

:slightly_smiling_face:

This is beyond my experience.

I know that for a PC/laptop to recognise an Arduino as a native MIDI device, only certain models of Arduino will work. Arduino Pro Micro or Leonardo, for example, and some others. These models of Arduino have "native USB" not a separate USB-serial chip.

Maybe @Grumpy_Mike can help.

Several people have told me about Leonardo and MicroPro

other guys tell me about Teensy 4.0

thanks a lot to your responses i’m reading, researching , you know :slightly_smiling_face: so i could build this fader controller

Based on your requirements in post #1, Teensy 4.0 seems like overkill.

Unless you have a helper app on your laptop or computer to turn the serial communications into what looks like a MIDI I/O device to the computer.

You could do this with an app called Hairless but it is only a 32 bit app and so will not run on computers that only allow 64 bit apps.

I would stick to the Micro, it can present Native MIDI to the computer and that can be recognised by Ableton.
