Because I'd like to use wired connections
I finally decided to use wifi for now. I'd also like to make wired versions, so I won't throw away the idea of an RS232 mesh or RS485 bus.
It is probably a good choice. Your idea using RS232 and that many nodes might cause delays. RS232 has its limits regarding the length of the wires, nide to node, that might force You to use low baudrates.
Probably if I'll stick with the RS232, I'll have to design some kind of router device and I don't know any cheap enough hardware for that.
Probably some UART to ethernet adapter with a library for that?
I already have 20 old PCBs for STM32 LED control which only has a UART broken out. I'd like to use up those or even design something alike.
