which connection is better for connect power to Pro-Mini?

hello ,
I have a Pro-Min, and I want to know what do you think is best
connect it to 12V on the RAW PIN
or 5V to the VCC pin?

I have both in my project so it doesn;t change much for me

also
is there a different if I connect the 5V to VCC\RAW?

Thanks ,

your project arrangement should determine how you select power.

if you provide 12VDC, the internal voltage regulator (VR) has to drop that to 5V.
there is heating and loss because the VR is not very efficient.

if you create 5v off the board, and it is constant, you are getting that from some source, so the voltage regulation is done elsewhere and may or may not be efficient, and you may or may not care.

as for Vcc and raw, Vcc is after the voltage regulator on board and all the sensitive bits are not expecting voltage fluctuations.

raw is before the VR. the VR on the UNO is not very efficient and requires some higher voltage in order to work. it requires a higher voltage, it may have as much as a 2 volt drop, although it may allow a larger range than recommended.

remember, recomended means it works 99.9% of the time. when you get outside of the recomended, it may or may not work as expected.

thank you for the answer ,
I use a voltage regulator 12V-5V in any way , not just for the Arduino .

so now I'm testing things - and I see that even if I connect the 5V to the RAW input , it still working
so is it a problem?

I'm sure I'm givin 5V - I'm checking it
