I actually don't know, I was hoping someone could tell me.
As regards the one you are currently using ( Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting. ) are you happy with it?
found any bugs or other limitations?
Perfectly happy. I liked the first one to start with as it worked 'out of the box' for want of a better way to put it. The second one requires just a little messing around with boards.txt to get it to work.
But now i'm using it I've not found any problems but there again I've not particularly pushed it either.
Thank you dannable.
That is the same one (your current core) that I am leaning towards and it's good to get confirmation that it's fine.
I don't mind messing about with boards.txt.
You actually have more choices, for tiny85 with V-USB:

The reason I feel this is important is the Trinket is a high quality, small form factor board available for $8 in both 3.3V & 5.0V varieties.
