Anyway I was messing with my nrf24l01 radios which worked perfectly fine on my Chinese nanos until I selected thwrong board type while uploading.
According to your statement, your nanos were working just fine with the nrf24L01+, right? That's when you selected the wrong board details.
Could try decoupling capacitors across the supply pins of the nrf24L01....... see some notes on the internet about placement of decoupling capacitors.
