who is this avrdude anyways?

hey folks,

today was my very first contact with arduino and now i got some errors while trying to upload to my brandnew "arduino uno wifi rev2".
it worked perfectly fine for quite a while and out of sudden my port was busy. short time after i got the following error message. help is very much appreciated :confused:
i realy dont know who this avrDude is and what he does...
