hi i have a problem with my Digilent chipKIT Uno32 board when i upload a sketch it says that upload is complete but it says: "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00" what does that mean? and how does i solve it?

why cant i upload any sketches to arduino?
