Why do you really feel that it is necessary to run the latest version of the IDE on a 15 year old operating system? YOU need to spend some time googling all the issues that your very old operating system is causing the Arduino IDE.

Hi arduinoabi

Can you tell us if this is the very first sketch you have tried to upload, or was it previously working and something changed?
