Why oh why Arduino?

Why.

Because.

why not?

why ask why

Because.

Voted the perfect answer for the question ;D

42

42 ? :-?

42 - the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything.

Sheesh, you guys are so unhip, I'm surprised your bums don't fall off.

Why Arduino? Because the alternative is PIC, and that paged RAM is just too awful to contemplate.

Well until now i knew that 42 was a number after 41 and before 43 :stuck_out_tongue:
hmm just googled and found ou tthat it was some guide for something that gave it some meaning

That would be why AVR and no Arduino, arduino doesnt make any chips...
And when using one C compiler you dont care if ram is paged or not, and if I recall correctly what is paged is the flash in 256 bytes each page..

why ask why

Drink Bud Dry?

/now that's dating me...

;D

42 comes from the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Arduino brand name comes from the name of one coffee house(I dont know the real name in english) where the creators of arduino meet up.

All right, that's it. Get off this forum. >:(

GO! I'M NOT KIDDING. Get off this forum RIGHT NOW and don't come back until you've read all 5 books in the trilogy.

And consider yourself getting off lightly, this should deserve serving hard time.

Lefty

It's funny how my nonsensical post that I only posted so that could post posts with links has taken off much (read: MUCH!!) faster than my post that is actually about arduinos and stuff.

@biocow:

don't come back until you've read all 5 books in the trilogy.

I would put it a little more precisely:

Don't come back until you understand exactly what the universe is for and why it is here.

Of course, by then (according to The Restaurant at the End of the Universe), it will have disappeared and it will have been replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Oh, well...

Dave

@senso: there's paging (in the case of flash, no big deal), and then there's bank-switching, which is what the PICs' RAM actually does {{{shudders}}}.

Read about it at the Microchip wbsite, but be prepared for an uncomfortable read.

I know how Pic works
