This was my first post and I was admonished for not formatting it correctly (mainly due to code tags). And then that post was deleted. Fair enough. But I made a new post, formatted properly, and it also disappeared within seconds).
Apparently it was moved to another sub-forum. Thanks.

It was (and is) not clear to me that the post belonged in the other sub-forum. The 'howto' did not address the issue of posts being moved. Other forums tend to notify the OP'er that this has been done.
FYI, there are other forums where I am one of the knowledgable people (perhaps even the expert in one or two). So I know it can be annoying when people show up not respecting the culture of that forum. For my clumsiness here in my first post, I apologize. But usually people still try to be helpful, while pointing out the person's erring ways; apparently that's not the case here.

Here, it's optional. Moving topics happens so often, we'd have the entire forum cluttered with redirection topics.
I usually guess that students are bright enough to navigate forums, and find their own posts, so don't post redirections.
Sometimes I'm correct.

Rusty. How did you find your post after it was moved? I feel your pain on the formatting. I'm still trying to learn my way around the site.
Click on your name, then select Show Posts. You can click on a post from there and see which forum it ended up on if it was moved.
He's talking about something like a "ghostnet"... You know posts exist and vanishes quickly. The moderator can't see it. Not sure if he downloaded malware, ghostware, etc.
