Why Q for transistors?

I guess "T" was already taken?

Transformers were invented before transistors.

This thread has some interesting info:

Transistors have a Q point, this being the quiescent dc operating conditions.

I prefer the Q shape of the case, I'm going with that....

To (P)np or not to (P)np, That is the (Q)uestion.

When we want your NPN, we'll ask for it

Hi, for the noobs.

NPN transistor, look at the emitter arrow, (N)ot (P)ointing i(N).

Tom....

Twinkle Twinkle little star, power equals I squared R. (That's all you need to know, you derive the rest)

As the late Graham Chapman in his role as the Colonel in many MPFC skits would say...

Too silly, too silly...

Hi, as was said many times about Bluebottle in the Goons

Silly boy, silly boy

Tom.....

Hercules Grittpype-Thynne.... "You silly, twisted boy"

Hi, yes quite a few characters had it in for the poor Bluebottle, "He's fallen in the water."

Good one. I think of Male/Female symbols as (N)o (P)u__y to(N)ight.

"You deaded me!"
Bluebottle appears to have been 'deaded' in almost every episode.

More recently.

You killed kenny.

That was Little Jim's catch-(only-?) phrase. For 50 years or so my brother has called me "Leetle Jeem"....
