Why should I submit my projects?

Dear community,

I've recently gained a lot more respect for the arduino**.cc** folks, reading up on all the legal hassle they have gotten involved with due to the backstabbing acts of one of the co-founders (granted, there's not a lot of information available on the other side of the story but I'm in good company on this forum I think). Then I came across the option to submit projects. Normally I wouldn't bother, but if this helps the community I will gladly do so. However, before I do, I'd like to know what purpose this serves.

Any ideas?

imho there are a number of purposes (in random order)

  1. show WHAT can be done with an Arduino to inspire other people make same or similar projects
  2. show HOW it can be done (teaching some techniques)
  3. to get feedback on your projects
  4. sharing your code so other do not need to reinvent the wheel
  5. to have an online backup of your working code ?
  6. ...

It is so they can write a blog entry about it if it is intresting enough.
