WIFI-Receiver with Fastest RSSI Readings?

Hello

Noob here, first post. Also, not sure if this should be in "Sensors"(?)

I'm working on a project that uses RSSI readings to determine the approximate distance from certain access points to then determine position (while these readings will be combined with an IMU and potentially other sensors, I'm aware this is not ideal... but it's the constraints of the project and is at this point non-negotiable).

For the best results, it's important to have as many of those readings as possible... in other words, the sample frequency should be as high as possible. Browsing a bit, going through some documentation, it was just about impossible to find such values for pretty much any device out there, it seemed.

Assuming this type of sample frequency is not common knowledge (of course I'd be great if someone just knew what best to get) - how would you go about finding the best device for this purpose?

I can certainly buy a number of wifi receivers and test them, but I'd still need some rationale to limit the selection to maybe a handful or so.

Thank you!

Hi

It seems this question didn't get much attention. Is there anything I could do to change this? I'm still in need of some assistance.

Thanks!

Receiver strength has a poor relationship with transmitter-receiver distance.
Unless you're in space, and both receiver and transmitter aerial orientations stay exactly the same.

The normal reason for the lack of answers is that no-one can help.
