Wifi Shield Always Error

Hello guys i need a wifi shield to control a dimmer . I have an Arduino Mega Board and and ESP8266 Wifi Shield by Wang Tonze... a friend gived to me but the problem is that any code for upload is always sending me this errors :

warning: espcomm_sync failed
error: espcomm_open failed
error: espcomm_upload_mem failed
error: espcomm_upload_mem failed

This is the source code i use for a simple scan... can u guys help me i really don't figured what i need to do i mention that the wifi shield is onto my Arduino Mega Board.

#include "ESP8266WiFi.h"

void setup() {
Serial.begin(115200);

// Set WiFi to station mode and disconnect from an AP if it was previously connected
WiFi.mode(WIFI_STA);
WiFi.disconnect();
delay(100);

Serial.println("Setup done");
}

void loop() {
Serial.println("scan start");

// WiFi.scanNetworks will return the number of networks found
int n = WiFi.scanNetworks();
Serial.println("scan done");
if (n == 0)
Serial.println("no networks found");
else
{
Serial.print(n);
Serial.println(" networks found");
for (int i = 0; i < n; ++i)
{
// Print SSID and RSSI for each network found
Serial.print(i + 1);
Serial.print(": ");
Serial.print(WiFi.SSID(i));
Serial.print(" (");
Serial.print(WiFi.RSSI(i));
Serial.print(")");
Serial.println((WiFi.encryptionType(i) == ENC_TYPE_NONE)?" ":"*");
delay(10);
}
}
Serial.println("");

// Wait a bit before scanning again
delay(5000);
}

Please use code tags (</> button on the toolbar) when you post code or warning/error messages. The reason is that the forum software can interpret parts of your code as markup, leading to confusion, wasted time, and a reduced chance for you to get help with your problem. This will also make it easier to read your code and to copy it to the IDE or editor. If your browser doesn't show the posting toolbar then you can just manually add the code tags:
``// your code is here``
Using code tags and other important information is explained in the How to use this forum post. Please read it.

There are two ways you can use an ESP8266 via the Arduino IDE:

 • Directly programming the ESP8266 using the ESP8266 core for Arduino.
 • As a WiFi network adapter module connected to a more traditional Arduino board such as your Mega.

The code and Tools > Board selection you're using is for the first usage but it sounds like from your description that your hardware configuration is for the second usage and that you're attempting to use an ESP8266 board definition in the Tools > Board menu when uploading to your Mega. That won't work and in fact the code you're trying to upload cannot be compiled for Mega.

So please provide more details of exactly what you're trying to accomplish.
