Hi there,
I want to describe how was done the firmware upgrade of Wi-Fi Shield and the
issues that me and my group have faced when connected with Arduino Mega. This project is for the final conclusion for my Computer Engineering course.
At first, we read the article regarding the product, available in:
*http://arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoWiFiShield* and we noticed that the firmware upgrade is strongly
recommended for its proper functioning.
We followed the instructions described in *http://arduino.cc/en/Hacking/WiFiShieldFirmwareUpgrading*
for Windows platform and we got the following message after done all the steps (see attaching: FirmwareUpgrade.PNG)
Until this point, it seems that the firmware was successfully installed on Wi-Fi Shield.
Although, we are not succeed in executing examples of Wi Fi from Arduino program, as recommended for a lot of tutorials. The message is given: “WiFi shield not present” as in the attaching ArduinoWifiShieldMega.PNG =(
Something important to say is that L9 pin of Wi-Fi Shield doesn’t light when connected with Mega. It only works alone. We have tested a lot of tutorials and we really don’t know why it has been occurring.
We believe it is a physical issue, due this divergence on the 9 pin, once the firmware seems to be correctly updated.
Arduino Mega is working correctly when used alone and we are able to execute examples on it.
We live in Brazil and a friend bought the Arduino for us when he was traveling abroad, thus we can't buy another one and it's very important for us to get our graduating.
We appreciate your help since now. ![]()
Thank you.
