WiFi shield R3 and Arduino Mega 2560 R3 shield doesn't ON, non funziona!

hi everyone, i have an Arduino Mega 2560 R3 and a WiFi shield R3 (all Arduino made, not xbee, ecc)...
i cannot be able to make the shield operative. when i power them (9V 1A), the mega it's ok, led, sketches, ecc.. BUT the wifi shield gets only the "L9" led on for just few milliseconds and just once, then it dies...
It doesn't get on with any wifi sketches, with no encryption, find networks, ecc... The serial monitr displays: "wifi shield not present".
HOW CAN I DO? THANK U!

grazie a tutti in anticipo!

I have seen this problem as well at times. Try to do this:

Make sure your computer is on.
Plug in your arduino MEGA with the wifi shield on top, NOTHING else connected to them.
Open arduino IDE and open serial monitor.

If it keeps showing shield not present, close serial monitor, unplug the arduino and plug it back in. Try open serial monitor again. Good luck. As I said, I have this problem, come and go.

Buona fortuna. Come ho detto, ho questo problema, andare e venire.

Thanks for your reply @liudr
I have done how u said to me.

  1. sketch uploaded
  2. disconnect all cables and clodes IDE
  3. installed the wifi shield on the mega
  4. plugged the usb and the DC 9V, (tried with once at times, many attempts tried...)
  5. opened IDE

--> Same as the other times, "L9" (of the shield) led brights for few milliseconds and it CONTINUE TO DON'T FIND ANYTHING NETWORK...
(opened network, with the correct name of the router in the sketch, of course)...

GUYS, had someone gotten a similar problem? i really need help, it couldn't be possible!

Thanks, Valerio.

Is the firmware upload jumper disconnected? It is a black shunt next to the micro SD card slot. It should be disconnected. At the moment, I can reproduce my problem (same as your problem), which happens when I start my computer and connect arduino with shield to my PC. It happened several times. I read you. It's frustrating. If I can reproduce the symptom, I will at least post here to see what we can do about it.

@liudr, thx for the help!
the problem, in fact, was the black shunt for the firmware update, i had completely forgot it.
really thanks to you, problem solved!

Alright! Once you get it working, there will be lots of fun! There is one issue that I noticed though. Please read this post to be warned:
