will not upload

I have a Freeduino serial v2.0. I was uploading to my board and have never had trouble before today. I was uploading a code that was too big and after that I was unable to upload anymore. My screen went dark and LED 13 just keeps blinking. I got the screen to come back on but am still unable to upload. I disconnected everything from the board and it still didnt work. I received the following error message:

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

Lastly the arduino program does not allow me to select anything but com3 regardless of what usb port I plug into. I am using version 11 with windows vista. I suspect that this is my problem but then again it always worked before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I read somewhere in this forum the same problem. I think you overwrote the bootloader OR it's a bootloader problem!

Try reburning the bootloader if you have a programmer, or modify the board and use the BitBanging method (I've done it!). You can also get another AVR with the bootloader burned :wink:
