I've been trying to get a transmitter/receiver pair up and running - the two products, which I linked, are both 4800 bps and 315 mHz. I was originally using the code from the KLP Walkthrough which is linked to on the product pages, but apparently that doesn't work at all. I was told to try Manchester Encoding, but since I don't have a chance of figuring that out on my own, I've been trying to use existing code instead. Recently I found this code - it compiles and uploads correctly for both the transmitter and receiver, but the transmitter clearly isn't actually transmitting anything. Can someone help me identify the problem? I know there's a big difference in baud rate between what the units are set for and what the code runs on - is this bridgeable? I also wonder if I've wired it correctly, since it of course doesn't give exact instructions like the walkthrough - right now, for the four-pin transmitter, I have it wired Pin 1 to ground, Pin 2 to MCU Pin 7, and Pin 3 to Vcc, with Pin 4 being the antenna. For the 8-pin receiver, it's Pin 1 to ground, Pin 2 to MCU Pin 2, Pin 3 to ground, Pin 4 to Vcc, Pin 5 to Vcc, Pin 6 to ground, and Pin 7 to ground, with Pin 8 also being an antenna. Is this correct? And I know it's a lot of grounding, but I read that that helps to eliminate noise (or something - I figured better safe than sorry). Thank you for the help!
Those kinds of parts work great with Virtual wire.
