Will This LCD Block Most Of My Arduino?

I am considering purchasing this LCD http://www.robotshop.com/dfrobot-graphic-lcd4884-shield.html but it appears to use (or at least block) all of the pins. Is this the case?

Only seems to use a few pins
• SPI interface (using Arduino digital pin 2,3,4,5,6) << Bit Bang SPI?
• One reset button
• One 5 degree joystick (using Arduino analog pin 0)
• Backlit control (Arduino DIO pin 7)

Probably want to install it at the top of any other shields ...

Sure look that way, but that's typical of a display/UI shield and makes reasonable sense given that you have to read the display.

Rob

Thats what i was afraid of. I'm new to this and am trying to avoid heavy use of a bread board.
Do you guys have any suggestions for an LCD shield, preferably as least 4x20, that has access to the other IO pins?

You could make a little a little cable up to move the shield away from the arduino itself
Parts like this

and wires like this

Male end goes in arduino connecter, female end plugs onto the back of your shield.

ok i have a mega and a RAMPS 1.3 and a LCD key pad i want to integrate with my Prusa Mendel rep rap
the connectors and wire sets you directed us to look like they will help.
i wonder if i should or could separate all the boards i would like to hide most any thing that will look hacked or bodged together.
no rats nest of wires. it might not be possible but i ask what would you or a professional do
i want to keep every thing cool to so no box at first till i see how hot things get

crossroads, Thats a great idea Thanx

@spad007, If you need to seperate to get them installed securely, then do so.
Hard to say really without seeing them.

@TheCanfield, I use a lot of these, I like the parts.
