Win7 home premium startup corrupted after arduino uno setup

Hello to you all,
I am completely novice to Arduino. Yesterday, I set up my first Uno to my pc running windows 7 home premium. It worked fine but today pc does not startup. It says that it is possible to new hardware or software setup. Has anyone had a similar problem? Do you have any suggestions to solve it? Unfortunately, I didn't find any restore point saved in my pc.

Thank you in advance

Never seen the IDE stop windows itself from actually working.

Where did you download the IDE from ?
Was your computer fully up to date before you installed the IDE ?
What do you have for security on that computer ?
Will it start up with the Arduino disconnected ?

Ballsxrewbob thank you for your answer.

The IDE was downloaded from the arduino site.
The computer was up to date.
The security I am using is Norton Internet Security.
I does not stastup with the arduino disconnected.

To be more specific I managed to startup the computer after I rebuild the BCD using bootrec. But still does not boot normally. It first shows an error that the file lpcfilter.sys does not have a proper digital signature (error code 0xc0000428). Then I press f8 and I select the option Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. It boots ok.

If anyone has any solution in mind, I would be grateful

AFAIK lpcfilter is not associated with the IDE.

If that is your problem I suspect a different issue.
It may be you could have been playing with drivers ?
If so you could well have installed a bad driver in some way accidentally for some hardware ?

Having to use BCD certainly points to something a little different than the IDE.

NIS has had it's fair share of problems with the IDE and you can find many instances of having to whitelist the IDE for that and McAfee having the same problem.

Are you by any chance running UEFI or did you change anything in the computer BIOS ?
If you did you could be running into a whole batch of issues that sometimes require a windows re-load.

Only been on here a couple of years but not seen this problem so far related to the IDE unless there was a virus or a severe system change (I dont trust norton BTW)
