Wind Sensor interfacing

Hi,

I am planning to interface the following wind sensor to uno board

http://inspeed.com/anemometers/Vortex_Wind_Sensor.asp

The brief datasheet says that the sensor generates 1 pulse / second at 2.5 mph wind.

Am I correct to say that this sensor will produce 2 pulses / second at 5mph? Also any advise on interface circuitry!

You are correct, according to the web page the number of pulses per second is directly proportional to wind speed.

It uses a simple reed switch, so there should be loads of stuff on this forum relating to pulse counting/timing.

Apparently no power is needed too, the wind sensor act also as a dynamo.

The specifications on the webpage are poor you need to ask the vendor for more technical details before purchasing.

The first half of the first sentence is correct. There's not a lot more you'd need to know, no electronics to complicate things, just a switch that opens and closes as the vane rotates.
