Windows 7 driver problem

Hi, I have an UNO R3 and cannot get the computer to work with it. I have tried sending it to the folder containing the drivers from the device manager, it says there are no suitable drivers. I tried to use the preinstalled ones on my computer and it says the device cannot start. I followed every guide I could find on how to install this on windows 7, but I just can't get the drivers installed so I can't upload any sketches.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you already tried installing the IDE using the installer?

just goto device manager-> ports

check whether any port being detected or not. if detected then you can check your installed path for drivers .

if not(Highlight yellow). then you just installed driver manually. here zip file folder for driver, just unzip it. choose ur board & get started

drivers.zip (1.19 MB)

It shows up under "other devices" and doesn't call it arduino uno, it says USB2.0-Serial. And when I extract the files, and tell the computer to look in the folder for a driver, it says displays the following error.

I have installed the IDE using the installer from the website

can you send me snap shot of device manager port section?

sure, here it is

As i told ur driver is not being installed.

click usb2.0 properties-> driver-> update driver->browse my computer for drivers->let me pick my drivers-> click on have disk option->

here you choose path of driver file i shared zip file (which should be unzip)

choose your board . then ok.

scan for hardware changes. This time yellow indicator turns white. let me know if any problem

Still no luck, I attached the screen that came up when I installed the driver. It's almost like I've installed the wrong driver, but I have tried both the R3 and the UNO driver from multiple sources and locations.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Turns out I didn't read the fine print of my order, I bought an arduino UNO compatible board, not the official UNO. So I needed drivers from another set-up as this uses slightly different hardware. I have attached the .zip which contains the necessary driver for anyone who may need it.

I purchased the kit off of eBay, from resistorsdirect. Here is a link to the product

Thank you all for your help! It's up and running now, the "blink" example is working just fine on my cheap clone.
