Hi to all,
I have a modbus communication implemented on my arduino Mega 2560, the arduino is plugged into a windows 8.1 PC and at the beginning seems to go.. but after a few minutes or hours the communication is interrupted.. If I reboot the software (into PC) the communication restart normally.. This issue not appear in windows 7 PC! googling I thought it was due to power saving features for USB devices..
you have any suggestions? it happened to someone? My application must run 24 hours a day uninterrupted

What application? It sounds like you have an application on the PC that is misbehaving. We can't do a damned thing about that. Go talk to Microsoft about their crap. And, shame on you for buying into that Win8 crap.
....... the problem is that arduino disconnects / reconnects continuously
You said that it worked fine, when the Arduino was connected to a computer running Win7. The Arduino can't decide to disconnect/reconnect randomly based on the operating system on the device on the other end of the serial port.
You have a Win8 problem. Take it up with Microsoft.
