Wire Follower Robot

Good morning,

I would like to build a robot like that I show you: Too V2 wire following robot - YouTube

It's able to follow an electric wire.
(Like new Robomow grass cutter)

Do you know how to make (or where to buy) the sensor ?

Thank you very much

Well the comment says:-
Too robot following the wire with 32kHz signal.

So you will need something to generate that signal, amplify it and send it down the wire.

Then to pick it up you need a coil tuned to resonate at 32KHz, an amplifier and a rectifier & smoothing circuit to give you the signal envelope. Then feed that into an analogue input.

Look at Envelope detector - Wikipedia
You will have to experiment with the coil, but if it were me I would start with a 20mm diameter former with 80 turns of wire on it.

Thank you Grumpy_Mike.

But I'm looking for an easier solution.

If I have to study how to generate the signal, how to amplify it and send it down the wire.
After how to create a coil to "read" the right frequency.... :frowning:

Do you know where could I buy a ready sensor for my project ?
e.g. the devices for detecting the cables inside the walls might work ?

the devices for detecting the cables inside the walls might work ?

Well I bought one a few weeks ago and it didn't even work for detecting mains cables in the wall like it was supposed to.

Sorry I don't know of any ready built units, maybe some one else does.
